Hawthorne Valley Association is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Measures to support accessibility

Hawthorne Valley Association (HVA) takes the following measures towards ensuring the accessibility of the HVA website:

  • Include accessibility as a requirement for all web content – content must meet WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
  • Ensure content authors have knowledge of accessibility best practices.
  • Include accessibility throughout internal policies, and as part of our mission.

 

Conformance standards

Hawthorne Valley website content posted since August 2019 is intended to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Parts of content meet Level AAA. Older content is being reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis for compatibility with current accessibility standards.

Technical specifications

The HVA website relies upon the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

  • CSS
  • SVG

The following technologies are used to improve accessibility and the user experience for everyone:

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

This website is designed to be compatible with assistive technologies and the last two versions of major browsers.

In Internet Explorer 10 and in older browsers, some aspects of the website may not display optimally. The website is not designed for Internet Explorer 9 and earlier versions.
